The primary colour signals are transmitted with the same period and phase. The device comprises a demodulator for the three primary colour signals in the received signal, and a delay line delaying at least one primary colour signal by an integral multiple of a line period. There is a device delivering the remaining demodulated primary colour signals without delay into the video display unit; and a device delaying the start of vertical scanning for the delayed primary colour signal by the same delay time as above.
