7-Amino-delta3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid derivs. are of general formula (I): where R1, R2 and R3 are same or different aliphatic hydrocarbon, mono- or bicyclic carbocyclic aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, a heterocyclic group or a heterocyclic substd. alkyl; R1+R2+N and R1+R3+N may form a ring-system; or R3=H; R4=H, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy, carbomoyloxy opt. substd. at one- or two-N-atoms, alkylthio, heterocyclic thio, trialkylaminonium, pyrimidinium opt. ring-substd. thioronium, amidinothio opt. alkyl(1-3C)-substd. at the N-atoms, N-substd. aminothiocarbonylthio, arylthio, alkoxythiocarbonylthio, alkarysulphonyl, acido, amino, amido, polyhydroxyphenyl, indol3-yl opt. substd. at the N-atom with alkyl(1-3C) or thiocyanoalkyl; R5=H or opt. substs. alkyl, aralkyl or acyloxymethyl. Pharmacologically-acceptable salts as well as all isomeric forms of (I) are included. (I) have high antibacterial activity with low toxicity.
