Transfer unit for automatic multistation presses - esp. horizontal presses for mfr. of mmetal parts, bolts and nuts

The unit consists of a transfer plate moving in a straight line and carrying a row of oscillating spindles on which clamping levers are mounted. The sequence of the spindles is, (a) a spindle carrying one half of a clamp; (b) an intermediate spindle; (c) a spindle carrying the second half of a clamp. The distance between the axes of spindles (a) and (c) is greater than the distance between the centre-lines of adjacent die-cavities (t) and is pref. 1 1/2t. The advantage of this design is that it reduces the distance between the die-cavities in the multi-cavity die block. The unit is esp. suitable for use with horizontal presses used for the mfr. of metal parts, nuts and bolts.
