Automatic adjustment of roller strip thicknesses in strip rollers with continuous measurement of the strip thickness and conversion of the measured valves into roller gap adjusting forces by automatic regulation of the roller pressure. The roller strip thicknesses are measured at one of the roller strip edges and the measuring valves are converted into adjusting forces for the roller gap region near this edge. The roller pressure close to or at this roller strip edge is determined and the roller pressure regulation close to the strip edge opposite to the first or at this edge itself is carried out.
