The cooling system, for a sealed immersible motor/pump set, has the pump driving the coolant around one or more cooling loops in the region of the motor and to one or more cooling loops passing through the other parts of the motor/pump set. The two cooling loops are connected so that heat is transferred from the motor to the rest of the motor/pump set. The first cooling loop may travel a helical path around the outside of the motor, whilst the second cooling loop travels helically through that part of the set walls in contact with the fluid that the pump is pumping.
