Appts for breaking up clusters of, sorting and cleaning mussels, designed to be used and installed in other locations, on the deck of a fishing vessel, comprises a chassis supporting a reception funnel at its head for the clusters of mussels under the trough of which two toothed rolls are arranged rotating in the same direction, between which the individual mussels pass for reception on an assembly of vibrating and slightly sloping screens, sprayed with water from a series of jets on a water pipe, the mussels larger than the screen mesh being received at the outlet of the lower part of the screen while the mussels of smaller size pass through the screen and are collected at the outlet of an inclined plane situated below and spaced from the screen.
