Plant for the treatment of waste water and sewage, notably of domestic origin, operates by aerobic bacterial digestion; consists of a closed, cylindrical tank provided with an annular sepg. wall. This subdivides the internal vol. of the tank into a peripheral settlement compartment, which is connected to the outside by a clear water collector, and a central oxidn. compartment into which the inlet opens. A deflector, in the form of a vertical pipe, is open at both ends. The sepg. wall is conical at its lower end. The deflector is provided with an oxygen distributor with an cruciform head, fitted with slits and fed with air by the compressor. The open condult are so fixed that the sludge deposited on the wall is drawn by suction into the end; it meets the ascending current of air and its oxidn. is completed. The plant can deal with bathroom and sink wastes and with that from the W.C.'s; all the various components are recycled and oxidised in the central compartment.
