Optical polarisation analyser for high frequency waves - allows analysis of two components of incident elliptical wave

The polarisation analyser comprises a non-absorbant or slightly absorbant body formed by the dioptics one of which receives the elliptical incident wave (11) provided by an external source. The angle of incidence of the latter wave is such that the reflected wave (12) is at right angles to the refracted wave (13) at least one of the dioptrics being provided with an anti-reflective coating. Pref. the non-absorbant body is formed by a prismatic plate (8), the angle at the summit being a function of the angle of incidence of the incident wave (11) with the exit face (10) provided with the anti-reflective coating, this face being perpendicular to the refracted wave (13).
