Lube oil system for ball and roller bearing - oil circulates and drains through radial and axial bores through hub

The system applies to double row bearings which have the inner cage mounted onto a fixed hub and with the outer cage revolving. The oil pumped to the bearing through an axial hole drilled in the central hub. This hole connects to a radial hole which takes oil to the space between the two bearings. The oil when flows through the bearing and the surplus oil is collected in a central groove. The return oil from the bearing passes through passages outside the outer cage and is guided by a pin into a hole in the central hub. The oil is returned from there to the reservoir. A modified pin allows the bearings to revolve in either direction. The system may also operate with journal bearings.
