Tiles may have a flat aeration orifice on their upper surface; the tiles are fitted by the adapter to the tiles below them. The adapter's lower and lateral surfaces are shaped, matching the tile surfaces which overlap, to be placed longitudinally of the tiles at any position. The adapter is pref. of semi-ridged material, esp. 'Styropor'.
