The housing is closed by multiple balanced shutters, one face of which has a heat-resistant protective covering, working in pivots and bearings likewise protected. The housing has a mechanism compartment, the front of which at least is heat-insulated, containing the connecting rods to each of the shutters, a return spring system, a release mechanism, and a safety bolt with a stop for the connecting rod mechanism. Means can be provided for mounting the release mechanism, safety bolt and return spring system at several different points. The shutters can be locked open or shut, to contain the fire or allow smoke dispersal, as preferred.
