Coffee maker using prepacked measures - hot water is poured on polystyrene ring with filter papers containing ground coffee

A coffee maker using ground coffee in prepacked measures which can be manufactured at low cost. Into an upper vessel (1) is fitted the prepacked measure. This consists of a polystyrene ring (4) with filter papers top and bottom (5, 6) and the ground coffee between (3). Holes (9) in each filter paper allow percolation through to a shallow funnel (10). A hole (11) drains the infused drink into the lower container (2) which is a pouring jug. A top cover (13) can also be used as a stand for the jug when in use. The ring may be protected by a varnish or a plastic film and the filter papers are attached by heat welding.
