Aluminium ingot handling plant - for ingots cut from continuous extrusion caster

The massive extrusion passes vertically downwards between guide rollers into the open top of a pivoted bucket section of the same cross section onto a piston raised through a hole in the base of the bucket and the billets/ingots are flame cut from the end of the extrusion one by one. The piston is then lowered and the bucket tilted over to the horizontal so that each billet in turn is laid onto a horizontal roller conveyor. The hole in the base of the bucket has =2 inwardly protruding lugs sliding in axially parallel grooves on the stop piston.
