The adhesion of polymers, esp. those with a high critical surface tension, is improved by incorporating into a base polymer (I) the adhesion of which is to be improved a high mol. wt. organic filler which is itself a polymer having a critical surface tension (C.S.T) lower than that of (I) to reduce the C.S.T. of (I), the incorporation being pref. effected during preparation of (I). The adhesion of a polymer to primers usually used for coating metal substrates, e.g. epoxy resins and polymethylmethacryslates is improved. Prior art use of inorg. fillers such as talc, CaCO3, TiO2, SiO2, etc. is avoided.
