Turbine type fluid drive coupling - has provision for draining, refilling and circulation of hydraulic fluid

A fluid coupling of the type in which the drive is transmitted between vaned input and output rotors by means of a fluid vortex. Provision is made for introducing and draining the working fluid at controlled rates through two separate pipes. Continuous circulation of the working fluid through the operating circuit may be maintained by an external pump. The recirculated fluid is removed from the circuit adjacent a radius of the interior working profile; flow through the removal and return circuits being controlled by separate valves.
