Tennis racquet with adjustable string tensioner. The frame of the racquet is formed by a profiled strip with an oval shaped head section, converging neck and extending handle with a yoke fitted to the neck section which is connected to the top of the head section by several longitudinal strings. The string tensioning device enables the yoke to be adjusted by hand in a longitudinal direction and permits it to be locked in at least two positions. A separate tool which can be inserted into the racquet belongs to the tensioning system, and to lock the tensioning system there is a bolt which lines up with a number of holes in the neck section and with the yoke.
