Powder-metallurgical composite consists of a sintered aluminium matrix (90-40 wt.%) contg. reinforcing stainless steel wires (10-60 vol.%). The composite is useful in metallurgical applications; construction of rockets or aircraft, etc. and posseses high strength at temps. 500 degrees C.
