Crane transport chassis for a truck - plates with cut-outs form outrigger guides on U-beam chassis

A crane transporting vehicle has a chassis made from U sections, with two channels (4) superimposed, forming longitudinals and with further U sections (2, 3) welded between forming cross members. Onto the outwardly facing backs of the longitudinals, which form the main load bearing structure for the crane, are welded pairs of longitudinal plates (3, 4), deeper than the channels, and with cut-outs, so as to form guides for the outriggers for the crane, and to locate them in the folded condition. The whole is a welded structure.
