The transformer has an iron core and is equipped with means for dc-magnetisation. The core is subdivided into two halves a plane through the axis of the working windins. Each core half carries at least one pre-magnetisation winding and the magnetic fluxes of the pre-magnetisations in the core halves oppose each other. The transformer for three-phase mains current has a three-shank core and a working winding pair on each shank; each shank carries a pre-magnetisation winding. The core parts connecting the shanks on one core side are magnetical connected to form closed magnetic circuits. for the connection of the magnetic cores two yokes are fixed to the core halves and are of soft magnetic material.
