Compacting detergent powder into pellets - packaged e.g. in continuous tapes, for accurate dosage in washing machine

Conventional detergent powders, e.g. lauryl sulphonate, are compacted to form homogeneous solid blocks, e.g. pellets, which pref. have one or more rupture lines to enable the pellet to be broken into smaller dosage units. In standard washing machines. Handling of detergent powder in bulk using dosage containers is avoided since the pellets can be individually introduced into the machine to correspond to a strict precise dosage. The compacted form is easier to package and is more resistant to impact and deterioration. Loss through powder leakage is also avoided.
