Yarn feeding device includes a pair of driven yarn feeding rollers above and below the nip of which are disposed two yarn guides movable pivotally between a position in which the yarn is gripped by the nip and a position in which the yarn is out of contact with the nip, whereby the yarn guide is mounted resiliently to be deflected by the yarn for bringing the yarn into contact with the nip when the yarn tension exceeds a predetermined value. The device is used in knitting machines. Yarn is engaged by the feed rollers when the tension in yarn is increased when the yarn is not unwound freely from its supply bobbin. Yarn breakage is prevented.
