The device is for turning-over longish work pieces with at least two opposing flat surfaces, which comprises a holder capable of swivelling the workpiece through about 180 deg. The holder is mounted on a carrier which travels crossways to the workpiece movement direction, its travel path being twice the distance from the swivel shaft to the outer edge of the workpiece. The holder itself comprises two forks fixed laterally on the shaft. The carrier comprises two lateral face plates which, with the aid of wheels, are guided in tracks. It is driven by toothed rods connected to the tracks gearwheels on a drive shaft actually engaging with the rods.
