The converter comprises logic input stages for an n-bit word representing the digital value of an angle, and a quadrant logic system. It comprises furtehr an output amplifier for a sine and a cosine signal; a reference a.c. voltage source, a resistor and a resistor network with n-1 resistors, connected to n-1 normally open switches, so that a switch and a resistor form each of the n-1 parallel circuits. A switching logic system is connected with the logic input circuits, through which the third bit of the n-bit word operates the switch connected to the resistor R, the fourth bit the switch connected to the resistor 2R etc., Voltage dropping across the common resistor is proportional to the sine function of the angle represented by the n-bit word.
