The reducing or shaping device is for workpieces such as bars or tubes and their sections, where the tool supports or tools are enclosed by a hydraulic chamber which encloses them partly or completely. The inner wall of this chamber can be partly elastically deformed by a hydraulic medium with pulsating pressure. The chamber or the individual chambers are formed by recesses in the inner wall and/or in the outer wall or the chamber or the housing. The faces which limit the chamber recesses have further recesses to accept sealing media.
