Therapeutic colloidal solns. of ferritin contain isotonic sea-water as the intermicellular liq., the ferritin comprising ferruginous micelles having a diameter of about 100 A charged with electricity and magnetism, at a dosage corresponding to the treatment required. The amt. of iron present is about 1 part per 1000, but may be less. The magnetic charge is generally 180 gauss, magnetic satn. of these sols. being 200 gauss. Used for treatment of cancer and leukemia, arterial and cardiac disorders, brain tumours and aneurism, and neurological disorders. They are also useful as anti-radiation agents and prevent disorders due to weightlessness.
