Static inverter with two thyristors and two diodes - has thyristor-diode series combinations coupled over output transformer primaries to capacitors

The static inverter has a series connection of anode-cathode paths of two thyristors and a series combination of cathode-anode paths of two diodes between its positive and negative current lines. Two capacitors are in parallel, one to each diode. A commutating circuit reduces the current flow through a conductive thyristor to zero and has a transformer whose secondary is connected in a circuit between points of the two thyristors and diode series combinations. Preferably the commutating circuit contains a secondary inverter containing the transformer primary. The secondary inverter may have also a series combination of further two thyristors.
