The parent patent describes an homogenising extruder for food pastes such as force-meat, fish-cake and meat ball mixes, creamed potato etc. The extruder comprises a top-loaded bowl with perforations in its base thorugh which paste is extruded under pressure of a blade which extends radially from an axial, rotary shaft inside the bowl, the pressure blade being angled to that extrusion pressure is created by rotation. In the addn. the rotary shaft inside the bowl carries two, axially-spaced pressure blades; pref. the shaft extends through the base and the shaft extension rotates a doctor blade which is spring-loaded against the discharge face of the base plate. Each extrusion perforation is pref. frusto-conical with its smallest dia. coinciding with the outlet face of the base plate. The extra pressure blade provides increased drive towards the extrusion holes. Frusto-conical, converging perforations give better homogenisation with increased compression and smoother surfaced extrusions. The spring-loaded doctor blade automatically and continually produces clean-cut lengths of extrusion.
