Removing oil, esp, oil emulsions from factory effluents - water flows through mass of ferrous particles positioned electromagnetically

Effluents contg. oil, esp. oil emulsions, are purified by means of ferromagnetic particles, which become coated with the oil; the water contg. the oil being passed through a conduit filled with metallic particles held in position by a magnetic field. For preferences the installation comprises two conduit sections filled with ferrous particles and used alternately; the particles in the one out of use being cleaned or exchanged for clean ones. The purified water leaving the conduits is monitored by a photoelectric cell which, when a predetermined level of impurity is reached, switches the flow from one section to the other. Works continuously raising the effluents to a high degree of purity, without the outlay necessary for a large installation.
