The hot drink maker which is designed to prepare coffee, tea or cocoa etc. comprises a heat chamber in which the water is heated and an infusion chamber in which the coffee etc. is placed. A weight loaded piston is provided in the heat chamber to move from an upper position above the water level into a lower positive at the bottom of the chamber thereby closing the upper opening of the chamber and forcing the water out through the outlet at the bottom and via a pipe to the infusion chamber. This only happens when a thermostat mechanism associated with the piston reaches a preset temperature so that a certain amount of water is released. The hot water then passes through the coffee etc. which is in the infusion chamber so that the prepared drink flows out into the collecting beaker or cup below.
