1389405 Teaching home dress-making ST CHAD SERVICES Ltd 27 June 1972 [8 July 1971] 32108/71 Heading A3V To teach the art of home dress-making a set of complete pattern pieces are formed of a woven or non-woven natural or synthetic fibre fabrics such as viscose rayon, cotton, nylon or a laminate of cellulose wood pulp fibre tissue and nylon scrim and are temporarily assembled into a trial garment which is adjusted to fit the wearer's body and subsequently dismantled, the adjusted pattern pieces being then used to cut out the parts of the garment proper from the final garment fabric and each pattern piece being used to produce a complete garment part from a single layer of fabric without the need for folding. The front pattern piece 1 for a dress is provided with three points X 1 , X 2 , X 3 for selective positioning of a bust dart whose final adjustment is made when the trial garment is worn. Similar adjustments are made for waist darts CDEF and shoulder darts on a back pattern piece. Separate armhole and neck facing pattern pieces as 3 and 4 are provided.
