1390751 Stop motions in travelling weave shed looms VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY 29 May 1973 [12 June 1972 (2)] 25586/73 Heading D1E In a travelling wave shed loom, the shuttles 3 are monitored by a bar 20 positioned above the sheds, so that when the shuttle meets an obstacle in the shed it is forced up against the bar, increased pressure on the bar tripping a sensor which stops the loom. Various forms of sensor are described including electrical contacts, a capacitative transducer, or pneumatic bellows. The monitoring bar 20 may be in several sections, covering the areas where the shuttles 3 enter and leave the shed, and is mounted on pivotable arms 25, Fig. 2, or vertically liftable rods 29, to move it clear of the shed when the loom is stopped. Picking:-The shuttles 3 are propelled across the shed by a wheel 311 in a link of a chain moving across the weaving area and acting on a wheel 312 mounted on a pivoted arm in the shuttle.
