A collar shaping machine for forming and pressing collars or the like is disclosed wherein a pair of rams function as presser plate actuators. A frame is mounted on the working table, and the rams are suspended from the frame over the presser plates. The frame is movable with respect to the working table and the rams are movable with respect to the frame, whereby the point of contact of the ramrods can be relocated on the presser plates to control the pressing action.
