1463280 Comminuting apparatus G HUSMANN 30 June 1975 [6 July 1974 11 Jan 1975] 27455/75 Heading B2A Comminuting apparatus comprises a motordriven disintegrator arranged in the lower part of a feed chute 6, Fig. 1 the assembly having a plurality of knives fixed in mutually overlying relationship on a drive shaft 8, the lower end of the feed chute 2 being formed as a screening drum 3 coaxial with the shaft and surrounded by a discharge duct 4 that part of the shaft which is located in the screening drum having blower vanes 13 Fig. 2 and at least one additional knife 14. As described, the uppermost knife 16 of the mutually overlying knives comprises agitating arms 17, the intermediate-knife being a disc 15a with a slit periphery, and the lower most knife also being a disc 15 with a slit periphery Fig. 3 and having a diameter at least equal to the inner radius of the screening drum. The outward extent of the blower vanes with the shaft corresponds approximately to the radius of the screening drum. The floor of the screening drum may comprise a disc 31 Fig. 6 projecting from the shaft and extending into the discharge duct, Fig. 6. Knife vanes 34 are secured to this disc 31. The discharge duct 4 discharges into an annular duct 5 which has secured to it a collecting sack 6 and a filter 7.
