Biocidal triazolylphosphorus cpds - by reaction of hydroxytriazoles and organophosphorus cpds

Cpds. of gen. formula (I): where R1 = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl or phenethyl; R2 = alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl, alkylsulphonyl, phenylthio, phenylsulphinyl, phenylsulphonyl, benzylthio, benzylsulphinyl or benzylsulphonyl; R3 = alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio or phenyl; R4 = alkyl; X = -O or -S; are prepd. by reacting a cpd. (II): with a cpd. (III): in the presence of an acid-binding agent such as tert. amines or inorganic bases. pref. in inert solvent. (I) have broad spectrum biocidal activity and may be used against various types of vegetable- or animal organisms. They are esp. suitable against Acarines and Acarides and are also active against Thallophytes esp. against fungi of plant-pathogenous types. Some of (I) have bactericidal activity. (I) may also be used to protect seeds, fruits, root crops etc. against fungal infections.
