Vinyl or vinylidene halide (co)polymers with a good impact resistance and clarity, in the form of particles having a porous or irregular urface are prepd. by (a) suspension polymsg. (the (co) monomers) in the presence of 0. 05-1.0 wt. % monomer-sol. catalyst, and 0.003-0.6 wt.% water-sol. catalyst, until polymsn. is =60% completed, (b) isolating the polymer particles, (c) forming a suspension of the polymer particles, (d) adding a monomer compsn. capable of forming a rubber-contg. interpolymer with a Tg of 25 degrees C and (e) polymsg. the monomer compsn. in the presence of the polymer suspension. Gives easily handled and moulded polymer particles that are free of polymsn. impurities.
