摘要
Novel agglomerates of Wollastonite crystals are essentially spherical shells of diam. =150 mu, esp. 3-150 and partic. 30-90 mu, composed of =50% of beta-type. Novel dispersions are prepd. from the agglomerates by addition of (a) sufficient water only to fill the spaces enclosed by the shells, esp. 3-25 times, and partic. 10-15 times as much water as wt. of solid; (b) a strengthening material; (c) an inorganic or organic fibre; (d) a clay; and (e) a binder. The dispersions are formed into shapes and dried. Formed shapes are used for high temp. applications e.g. 1000 degrees C.
