The mounting secures the rod to a housing open at the top, and consists of two or more angle brackets (18). These each have an upper spring clip portion (25) fitting over the upper forward edge of the housing, and a horizontal spring arm (20) gripping the rod end. Each bracket can have a vertical closing plate (23) fitting over the rod end, and plate and arm can form a single flexible component, to which the spring clip portion is soldered or welded. There can also be an intermediate bracket between the end ones, its arm consisting of a vertical plate with a recess in it at the top to take the curtain rod.
