A device for inspecting tubing as it is run into or pulled from a well bore is of annular form so that the tubing can pass therethrough and is carreid at the free end of a telescopic arm which is secured at its other end to a support column in a manner allowing the arm to pivot about a vertical axis between a retracted position and a position in which the inspection device is aligned with the well bore, the telescopic nature of the arm allowing the inspection device to shift radially to accommodate lateral movement of the tubing.
