1465310 Destruction of obnoxious products NILS OSTBO AB 19 Nov 1974 [19 Nov 1973] 49955/74 Heading F4B A furnace for the destruction of obnoxious products contained in a gaseous fluid having insignificant heat value, has a fire tube 10 with restricted outlet 20 and a burner 11 surrounded by a mantle 18 to which air is supplied from a pipe 19. The gaseous fluid is supplied by the pipe 21 to the passage 22. Means 24 impart rotational movement to the gases so that they will flow along the envelope wall of the fire tube acquiring heat without actual contact with the axially directed flame from the burner 11. At the end of the fire tube the gases will be forced into the heart of the flame for complete combustion. If the gaseous fluid contains sufficient air or oxygen some of it may be led directly to the burner in place of the normal air supply. The fire tube may be surrounded by a water space forming part of the convection portion of a boiler.
