1379726 Drawer fastenings J E B SCAVENIUS 27 April 1973 [2 May 1972] 20128/73 Heading E2A In a cabinet in which drawers 31, 32, &c are secured simultaneously by a lock-operated, vertically sliding bar 33, this bar is urged up into its fastening position by springs 43 projecting from the back of the cabinet. These springs normally engage pins 42 to hold the bar in its fastening position but are pressed down at end 44 when the corresponding drawer is closed, so that when any drawer is withdrawn its spring is released to lift the bar to secure all the other drawers. A modified form is described in which the drawer has a hook which latches into a hole in the bar and the spring projects laterally into this hole and is depressed by a projecting ramp.
