1498685 Housings for taximeters KIENZLE APPARATE GmbH 10 June 1975 [11 June 1974] 24814/75 Heading G4T A housing for a taximeter comprises a first part G 1 which is firmly attached to a vehicle in use by means of sealed screws and which carries the taximeter fare calculating and fare indicating means and receives various cables at its rear (Fig. 3, not shown) and a second part G 2 which is attached to first part G 1 from the front side by sealed screws and which has at least one cutout to reveal the fare indicating means and has permanently attached thereto the actuating means for manually changing the operating condition of the taximeter. In the embodiment shown, an electronic taximeter TW has displays PA, ZA for the tariffs, lights AD and a plug-in programmable read-only memory PROM which may be replaced by another PROM set for different tariff rates. Housing G 2 has a slot N engageable with base B of part G 1 , windows for displaying the fare indicating means in front plate SD and switches SG for operating the taximeter.
