FUEL CONTAINES WITH LAW STORAGE CONFORMITY

Stoving lacquer binders consist, by wt., of (A) 5-50 (15-45)% aminoplasts and (B) 95-50 (85-55)% satd. polyesters having av. mol.wt. 200-1000 (200-800), of aliphatic and opt. cycloaliphatic polyols and aromatic and opt. aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and/or their anhydrides. The polyols of (B) consist of (a) 0-50 mol % aliphatic 4-6C diols and/or triols and (b) 100-50 mol % ethylene glycol and/or propanediol-1,2, and opt. 30 mol % of (a) + (b) may be replaced by aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diols in which the OH functions are separated by 2-8C and opt. 2C may be replaced by O atoms, which, in turn, are separated by =2C from one another and from the OH gps. The dicarboxylic acids of (B) consist of (c) 90-100 (100) mol % aromatic or cycloaliphatic 8-12C dicarboxylic acids and (d) 10-0 (0) mol % satd. aliphatic 4-12C dicarboxylic acids. Used as low solvent coating compsns. for metals, esp. opt. galvanised steel and Al sheets. Compsns. can be stoved with little solids loss at 120-130 degrees C to layer thickness 80 mu, to form non-tacky, high gloss, elastic, hard coating which resist chemicals and solvents.
