The grab grips the felled trunk and conveys it to a device which holds one end. The grab and holding device can be moved towards, and away from, each other along a horizontal jib-arm. A cutter operates so that it is positioned around the trunk and removes the branches by a relative, axial movement. The holding-device is joined by a block attached to a vehicle and supports one end of the jib-arms. A steering device moves the jib-arm in relation to the block. The grab on the jib-arm can be moved in a vertical and horizontal direction along the arm.
