A machine for producing sterilised packings from an endless band of packing material includes equipment for sterilising the endless material band with a fluid containing a sterilising additive and washing equipment with means for supplying and sterilising water used for washing the endless material band and for collecting the washing water. Adjoining the washing equipment is equipment for producing packings from the sterilised material band. The means for collecting the water and the remainder of the sterilising additive includes regenerating equipment for the washing water which includes a pump connected by a pipe line to the equipment for sterilised washing of the endless material band.
