Compounds of the formula I IMAGE in which -CO-R denotes an acyl radical of a carboxylic acid, in which the radical R denotes hydrogen or contains up to 25 C atoms are prepared by cyclisation under HE-eliminating conditions of a compound of the formula II IMAGE in which E denotes OH, alkylsulphonyloxy having 1-6 C atoms, arylsulphonyloxy having 6-10 C atoms, acyloxy having 1-7 C atoms, the acyl radical being derived from a carboxylic acid, tetrahydropyranyl-2-oxy, alkoxy having 1-4 C atoms, Cl, Br or I. The compounds have outstanding parasitological and pharmacological properties together with good tolerability. They act, inter alia, as useful anthelmintics and in particular display a broad spectrum of action against cestodes and trematodes. Psychotropic properties and properties affecting blood pressure can also occur.
