1534563 Mono- and dis-azo dyestuffs containing aminomethyl groups STERLING DRUGS Inc 27 Jan 1976 [7 Feb 1975 17 Dec 1975] 03181/76 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs have the formula wherein n is 1 and A has one of the structures or n is 2 and A has one of the structures R is H, C 1- 3 alkyl or akoxy or halogen; RSP2/SP is H, C 1- 3 alkyl or alkoxy, halogen, -CH 2 NH 2 or -(CH 2 ) 2 NH 2 but A is not derived from #-naphthol if RSP2/SP has either of these last 2 values, RSP1/SP and RSP3/SP are each H, C 1-3 alkyl or alkoxy, halogen or -CH 2 NH 2 but at least one is - CH 2 NH 2 if RSP2/SP is not -CH 2 NH 2 or -(CH 2 ) 2 NH 2 ; Q, QSP1/SP and QSP2/SP are each H, C 1- 3 alkyl or alkoxy, NO 2 or halogen; and QSP3/SP, QSP4/SP and QSP5/SP are each H, C 1-3 alkyl or alkoxy or halogen. They are prepared by conventional diazotization and coupling processes are used in free base or acid-addition salt form to dye polymers in the mass, paper, paints, varnishes and inks and textile substrates such as those of wool, linen, cotton. regenerated cellulose, rayon and viscose.
