The outer units of the heat exchanger system communicate with the evaporation side of the respective heat pump and its inner units communicate with the condensing side for heating the building and the outer and inner units respectively communicate with the condensing and evaporation sides of respective heat pumps for cooling. The planar heat exchangers have connections permitting communication with differing elements of the heat pumps and the heat exchangers may be fastened to a surface and thereafter plastered or embedded in situ, or they may be formed in prefabricated building panels subsequently used in the building's heat exchange system.
