The workbench has a working surface provided with slits which (i) removable, and a container arranged below it which has a sloping bottom terminating in a trough with an outlet leading to an output pipe and a drainage opening provided with a thread, in which a T-shaped inert can be scrwed to close it. Four air is drawn from the container by a suction device. The liquid in the container can be tested, and either fed directly to the main drainage, or siphoned off with an arrangement which is provided, should it be found to be heavily polluted.
