An automatic injection syringe for shooting from a narcotics gun or pistol, has a hollow cylinder divided by a piston into a pressure chamber and a drug cavity which is sealed by a stopper of elastomeric matl. and a cannula with a centralising disc on its piston end close to which there is a lateral opening to admit the drug. When the springe hits the target, the piston is pushed forward, driving the cannula through the stopper and ejecting the drug along it. The cannula is sterilised and cannot cause infection. The syringe can be quickly filled with the drug immediately it is required, so that storage problems are avoided.
