Colour contrast wall coatings consists of a mixt. of coloures components, e.g. mica, granite, basalt or gneiss chippings, or glass splinters, which is mixed with dodecyl benzene sulphonate and wool grease, carrera marble and a vinyl ester binder and applied to the wall by trowel. This process avoids the masking of the coloured components which occurs with other methods. A typical compsn. comprises 50% of carrera marble dust, 10% of dodecyl benzene sulphonate/wool grease impregnated coloured components, 10% of methyl cellulose and 30% of vinyl ester resin dispersion.
